We are launching a new event series “In the Loop with Cattwyk”, hosting several panel discussions around Circular Economy in 2026.
The first of our Circular Economy panel discussions will take place on Thursday 5 March 2026, at 16:00 CET, Rue d'Arlon 25, Brussels.
During this first event, we will focus on circularity in the steel sector.
Steel and metal are of strategic importance for the European Union. However, they face major challenges for their competitiveness: high energy costs, exposure to an unlevel playing field in international competition, resource scarcity and decarbonisation investment needs.
We will discuss how the recently published EU’s Steel and Metals Action Plan (SMAP), CBAM and other upcoming regulations, such as the Circular Economy Act, may shape the agenda for the steel industry and how they may interact with the general goal of a more circular economy.
