We cordially invite you to the all-day conference on trade protection instruments on the premises of Commerzbank am Jungfernstieg in Hamburg. Representatives from politics, industry, practice and science, including the Directorate-General for Trade of the EU Commission and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, will discuss traditional and new trade policy instruments of the EU from an economic and legal perspective. The welcome address will be given by Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor and President of the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
It covers trade protection measures in the steel sector, including CBAM, the experience since the reform of the basic anti-dumping regulation in 2018, current ECJ case law on the circumvention ban (“Harley-Davidson”), the EU's anti-subsidy policy, and the new instruments to protect EU industry from unfair trade practices (Enforcement Regulation, Foreign Subsidies Regulation and Anti Coercion Regulation). Further information and the full program of the event can be found here →.
We are pleased with the top-class members of the panels and are looking forward to exchanging ideas with all participants.
Participation is free of charge and the number of participants is limited.
