Dr Lothar Harings advises on all issues relating to trade compliance and sustainability in the supply chain. The focus of his legal work is on advising on due diligence obligations in the supply chain (LkSG, CSDDD), deforestation-free supply chains (EUDR), forced labour (FLR) and the Conflict Minerals Regulation. Dr Harings also advises on embargoes and sanctions, export control law and customs law/anti-dumping law.
According to the JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms, Dr Harings is one of the leading lawyers in customs law and foreign trade law in Germany. He is Chairman of the European Forum for Foreign Trade e.V. (EFA) and studied law in Freiburg i.Br. and Heidelberg. From 1997 to 2024 he worked as a lawyer in a large German law firm, since 2002 as a partner.
